Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the AI Doc Scanner mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and WiscAI, LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use AI Doc Scanner. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may only use the App with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Description of Service

AI Doc Scanner is an AI-powered document scanning application that allows you to:

• Scan documents using your device's camera or photo library
• Perform on-device optical character recognition (OCR) using Apple's Vision framework
• Generate AI-powered structured data extractions for receipts, business cards, insurance cards, forms, notes, and other documents
• Search across your scanned documents using natural language
• Export documents and data as PDF, CSV, or to your device's Contacts
• Store and organize your scanned documents in a cloud-synced library

The App provides both free and premium subscription tiers.

4. Accounts and Registration

To use AI Doc Scanner, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@wiscai.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Device Permissions

AI Doc Scanner requests access to your camera, photo library, and contacts for the following purposes:

• Camera: To scan and digitize documents.
• Photo Library: To import existing photos for scanning.
• Contacts: To save extracted business card information to your device's address book.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right and authorization to scan any document you capture with the App. Do not scan documents belonging to others without their authorization.

6. Plans, Billing, and Payment

6.1 Subscription Plans

• Free: Unlimited document scanning and on-device OCR, 5 AI extractions total, basic PDF export.
• Premium: Everything in Free plus unlimited AI extractions, natural language search, CSV and Contacts export, and receipt categorization. Available at $4.99/month or $29.99/year.

6.2 Free Trial

Both Premium plans include a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and you will be charged.

6.3 Billing and Renewal

All subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store via your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the free trial period). Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Upon cancellation, your Premium access remains active until the end of your current billing period.

6.5 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.

7. AI-Generated Content and Accuracy

AI extraction results are not guaranteed to be accurate. The AI may produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading structured data. You must verify all AI-extracted information before relying on it.

• Receipts: Totals, tax amounts, item prices, and categories may be incorrect. Do not rely on AI-extracted financial data for tax preparation or expense reporting without independent verification.
• Insurance cards: Member IDs, group numbers, and copay amounts may be incorrect. Always verify with your insurance provider before relying on extracted information.
• Business cards: Contact information (phone numbers, emails, addresses) may be incorrect. Verify all contact data before relying on it, especially if saved to your device's address book.
• OCR accuracy: On-device text recognition quality depends on document condition, lighting, font, and handwriting legibility. OCR errors propagate to AI extractions.

We are not liable for any damages arising from inaccurate AI-generated content.

8. Sensitive Document Disclaimer

AI Doc Scanner processes documents that may contain personally identifiable information, financial data, and health-plan information. By using the App, you acknowledge:

• You assume responsibility for the sensitivity of documents you choose to scan.
• AI Doc Scanner is not a HIPAA-covered service and is not a substitute for professional record-keeping.
• Scanned documents, OCR text, and AI extractions are not certified copies and should not be relied upon as legal records, official documents, or authoritative records. Always retain original documents.
• Document images are uploaded to cloud storage. Until deleted, images are stored on Supabase infrastructure secured by encryption and access controls.

9. User Content and Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain all ownership rights to the documents you scan and the data extracted from them. We claim no ownership of your content.

License to us: By using the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (scanning, OCR, AI extraction, storage, search). This license terminates when you delete your content or account.

No AI training: Your content is not used to train AI models — neither ours nor our AI provider's.

Our intellectual property: The App's design, software, branding, and associated materials are owned by WiscAI, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose, including but not limited to scanning documents for counterfeiting, identity fraud, or forgery.
• Scan documents you do not have authorization to scan.
• Circumvent free-tier usage limits or other technical restrictions.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the App or its services.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure or other users' access.
• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OR OCR RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WISCAI, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FROM INACCURATE AI EXTRACTIONS, DATA LOSS, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WiscAI, LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your use of the App for illegal purposes; (c) documents you scan without proper authorization; or (d) unauthorized use of your account.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@wiscai.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in Madison, Wisconsin, or by videoconference at the arbitrator's discretion.

14.3 Class Action and Jury Trial Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.

14.4 Opt-Out Right

You may opt out of the arbitration and class action waiver provisions by sending written notice to support@wiscai.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, email address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Termination

By you: You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from the Settings screen or by contacting support@wiscai.com. Active subscriptions remain until the end of the current billing period.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms. Except in cases of illegal activity, we will provide 30 days' notice and an opportunity to cure.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. Data deletion follows the process described in our Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 30 days in advance. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may stop using the App and delete your account.

18. General Provisions

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and WiscAI, LLC regarding the App. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver. We may assign these Terms; you may not without our consent.
